SAINT VICENT TOURNANTE 2015

On 24 and 25 January, Phoenix Wine Club members participated in the very popular festival of Saint Vincent Tournant at Clos Vougeot. This event was an occasion to present the Club and its many activities to members from Geneva and their families.

Saint Vincent is the patron saint of wine-growers, and the festival was created in 1938 by the confrérie des chevaliers du tastevin (brotherhood of knights of wine-tasting). Each year, the festival honors one or several neighbouring villages. In 2015, the villages of Gilly-lès-Citeaux and Vougeot undertook the organisation and hosting.

Club members tried the local wines and particlarly appreciated the festive ambience, with a stroll through the vineyards to the famous Chateau de Clos Vougeot, celebating its 900th anniversary.
